One injured after crash in Liberty Township

A woman was reportedly injured after a two-vehicle crash at 12:31 p.m. Thursday on Ohio 12 near Liberty Township 139, according to a release from the Hancock County Sheriff’s Office.

Ronald Retting, 63, of Rawson, was driving a 2003 Chevy truck north on Liberty Township 139 and stopped for a stop sign at Ohio 12. Retting failed to notice Paula Eck, 71, of Bluffton, traveling east on Ohio 12 in a 2005 Chevy Malibu, and pulled out in front of Eck.

Eck was transported to Blanchard Valley Hospital by Hanco EMS with unknown injuries. Retting was cited for failure to yield from a stop sign.

The Liberty Township Fire Department, Hanco EMS and R&A Towing assisted at the scene.
