Updated: Death of Findlay woman in Fostoria investigated

FOSTORIA — Fostoria police are investigating the death of a 30-year-old Findlay woman whose body was found Monday night in the front yard of a South Vine Street home.
Fostoria Police Chief Keith Loreno identified the woman as Leah White. The chief said foul play is not suspected.
Emergency personnel were called to 219 S. Vine St. at 8:51 p.m. Monday for an unresponsive female. Police and paramedics found the woman lying near a picnic table in the front yard of the residence.
The Hancock County Coroner’s Office transported the body to the Lucas County Coroner’s Office in Toledo for a forensic autopsy.
“The coroner will determine if it was anything medical or if it was something else,” Loreno said, adding that it’s not unusual for autopsy reports to take up to 12 weeks to complete.
While the cause of death remains unknown, Loreno said his officers have effectively ruled out homicide.
“There did not appear to be any obvious foul play, so we’re continuing our investigation with interviews of the people who last spoke with her,” he said.
The body was discovered by a friend who had been speaking to her earlier in the evening.
