Rain and wind kept the hot air balloons on the ground today during the first day of the Flag City BalloonFest, but better weather for ballooning is expected Saturday and Sunday.
Several balloons were inflated this morning at Emory Adams Park, but did not fly as rain showers arrived. Balloons were filled and illuminated on the ground at 9 p.m. today.
The balloons are scheduled to fly into Emory Adams Park at 7 a.m. Saturday and Sunday, weather permitting.
Balloons also will fly to the park between 6:30 p.m. and 8:30 p.m. Saturday, weather permitting, followed by another illumination at 9 p.m. Saturday.
