Two injured in I-75 crash involving State Patrol trooper near Bowling Green

BOWLING GREEN — Two people were injured Wednesday morning in a crash involving a State Highway Patrol trooper from the Findlay post on Interstate 75 near Bowling Green.
According to the patrol’s Bowling Green post, at 6:15 a.m., a 2012 Buick Lacrosse was traveling south on Interstate 75. The driver, James E. Tounage, 52, of Detroit, became distracted and went off the left side of the roadway into a median, the patrol said.
The Lacrosse hit a stationary patrol vehicle being driven by Trooper Philip R. Mohre, 42, of the Findlay post. After the collision, the Lacrosse traveled back across the southbound lanes of I-75 and came to a stop in a ditch, the patrol said.
Tounage and his passenger, Jewel D. Milledge, 49, also of Detroit, both suffered minor injuries in the crash and were taken by ambulance to Wood County Hospital, the patrol said.
Mohre was not injured in the crash, but was still taken by patrol personnel to Wood County Hospital as a precaution.
