The fire at BR Pallet is in control but there are still some smoldering spots, said Vanlue Fire Chief Mark Price Saturday.
The fire, at 21395 Hancock County 7, Alvada, was reported yesterday at 6:30 p.m.
Price said the department used water from surrounding ponds and from municipal water sources, but it took a while to set up the flow of water and keep pressure up.
The blaze was intense enough that firefighters were brought in from Hancock, Seneca and Wyandot counties as well as some additional ones, Price said. He said wasn’t sure how many firemen had been at the scene.
The owners are insured, Price said, but there is not currently an estimate of how much damage was caused.
No injuries have been reported yet.
The fire is under investigation from both the Vanlue Fire Department and the Ohio State Fire Marshal.
