The teenage suspect charged in the shooting death of a 20-year-old Fostoria girl late last month will be tried as an adult, court officials said today.
Garrett N. Brown, 17, had his case bound over to Seneca County Common Pleas Court Tuesday morning, per a written order from Seneca County Juvenile Court Judge Jay A. Meyer. Brown appeared before Meyer at 1 p.m. last Friday for a bind over hearing in which the judge took the matter under advisement.
Additionally, a bond was set for Brown in the amount of $1.5 million cash or surety with no 10 percent allowed, a juvenile court representative said Tuesday.
He is still being held at Seneca County Youth Center, where he will likely remain throughout the entirety of the court process until he turns 18, the representative said.
