Prison sentence for man shot while burglarizing home

A McComb man was sentenced today to four years in prison after police said he was shot while burglarizing a village home.

Christian G. Moreno, 24, pleaded guilty in Hancock County Common Pleas Court to a second-degree felony of burglary. At about 1:45 a.m. Oct. 22, he trespassed by force at 314 N. Todd St. in McComb to commit theft, according to police.

Moreno was treated for injuries at Blanchard Valley Hospital and taken to jail. McComb police said the resident who shot him, Tanner Grose, would not face charges.
