Hancock County’s recycling center, Litter Landing, may soon be getting an upgrade.
The commissioners agreed today to hire Peterman Associates, Inc., Findlay, to develop building and site plans for the recycling center.
Commissioner Mark Gazarek said two buildings at the center are falling apart. One of the buildings is used for storage and the other is used to house equipment for grinding glass.
“I use Litter Landing, too, and I think we all could agree that it is not big enough for the traffic it needs to accommodate,” Gazarek said.
For years, Gazarek said the goal has been to build a second Litter Landing on the west side of town. That idea, he said, is no longer being pursued.
“So, we though we should focus on fixing up the current location,” Gazarek said.
Peterman will be paid $12,370 for the plans.
