Fostoria police have identified Dakota M. Sharninghouse, 19, as the prime suspect of an armed robbery reported Thursday evening at an East Lytle Street convenience store.
According to Fostoria Police Capt. Patrick Brooks, officers received a 9-1-1 call at approximately 9:15 p.m. Thursday reporting an armed robbery at Circle K South, 551 E. Lytle St. The suspect, a white male, approximately 5 feet 9 inches tall weighing 180 pounds, fled the scene prior to officer arrival.
Brooks said video surveillance footage was reviewed and showed a subject enter the business, brandish a handgun and demand money from the clerk. The clerk complied with the demands and gave the suspect roughly $190 in cash from the register.
No one was hurt in the robbery and no shots were fired. Sharninghouse remains at large and Brooks said he is armed and should be considered dangerous.
Anyone knowing the whereabouts of Sharninghouse is advised to contact Fostoria Police Department at 419-435-8573 or any other local law enforcement agency. An Arrest warrant has been issued for Sharninghouse through the Tiffin-Fostoria Municipal Court.
