Lane closures announced for U.S. 224 at I-75

Traffic on U.S. 224 at Interstate 75 in Findlay will be slowed next week as construction work begins on replacing the bridge and rebuilding the interchange.

On Monday, traffic on the bridge will be reduced from five lanes to three, with one lane in each direction and left turn lanes onto the I-75 ramps, so workers can place temporary pavement on the inside shoulders of the interchange ramps, according to the state Department of Transportation.

The first U.S. 224 bridge closure is expected from 9 p.m. Feb. 28 until 6 a.m. March 3 when the south half of the existing bridge will be demolished.

The project will replace the U.S. 224 bridge over Interstate 75, add a sixth lane to the bridge, reconstruct the ramps, replace traffic signals, and construct a sidewalk on the bridge’s south side.
